NC Seafood

When you think of North Carolina, one of the first things that comes to mind is the wonderful bounty of seafood found in the waters of our great state. Whether it is wild-caught seafood harvested by the boats that work our deeply etched coastline or farm-raised seafood produced in ponds, streams, and recirculating systems, North Carolina seafood is a treasure to be shared.

North Carolina is consistently one of the top producers in the United States of the Atlantic Blue Crab. Production of Rainbow Trout in the pristine waters of our western mountains ranks second in the nation. North Carolina is a leader of the growing aquaculture industry, with Tilapia and Yellow Perch being grown in climate-controlled recirculating systems. The coastal plain with its natural aquifers supports our top ranked Catfish and Hybrid Striped Bass industries.

We hope you will include North Carolina seafood in your upcoming food purchases. If you have questions about where to source product, need background information or want to be involved in helping us promote the best from North Carolina, let us know by contacting William Small, Seafood Marketing, NCDA&CS, (252) 331-4773; william.small@ncmail.net. We look forward to working with you.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Steve
